Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy:

In 2012, Equine-Assisted Therapies of South Florida launched its Equine-Facilitated Psychotherapy program.  Also known as EFP, this program is a non-mounted therapy program, open to individuals or group of all ages, in which a licensed mental health professional works with the client and horse to explore feelings and behaviors.  Children and adults suffering from mental or physical abuse, PTSD, bullying, depression, anxiety, substance abuse or eating disorders would benefit from EFP.

This program has proven effective when partnering with substance abuse treatment centers that provide a clinically based model.  In 2014, EATSF partnered with Stable Place to offer activities designed to address common issues such as communication, trauma, self-esteem and mindfulness to their patients.
