Help Us Create a Special Place to Grow!
This summer is a turning point in our program. We are on the verge of creating an even more special place where children and adults with special needs can come to improve themselves physically, mentally and emotionally. Imagine a child speaking for the first time to her horse, or a veteran with feelings of isolation connecting with the civilian volunteers, or the woman with Multiple Sclerosis who was unable to walk up the stairs to her apartment up until she began riding.
Through your your support, you can help us fulfill, “Project 200” by helping to build our Therapeutic Learning Center (TLC).
Project 200 began three years ago to bring the benefits of equine-assisted activities and therapies to even more individuals. Project 200 includes a gift from the county of an additional 2.5 acres to expand our herd. It also provides for an ADA compliant space where riders can meet with instructors and industry professionals can learn new techniques. We call it the Therapeutic Learning Center (TLC).
Our TLC will improve local ability of special needs education, equine training and nonprofit partnerships by:
- Addressing the most current and successful information and techniques related to the ever growing special needs community, though: specific therapies, education, recreation, and sport.
- Positioning EATSF as an educational center for industry professionals, providing additional revenue to support the mission and vision of EATSF.
- Allowing for a successful public/non-profit partnership that will help EATSF enhance collaboration with other organizations serving similar communities.
